BMW make a huge commitment to future production within the UK despite fears that Brexit would lead to a decline in UK based manufacturing. BMW has announced that they will be building the new 2019 Electric Mini in their Oxford based plant although BMW have also established an alternative plant in the Netherlands as and escape root if needed post Brexit.
This news is being hailed as a vote of confidence within the UK despite the uncertainty of Brexit negotiations. This is great news for the UK following the news last year that Nissan will be producing their new models of both the Qashqai and X-Trail in the UK.
So what does this mean for the UK Automotive Manufacturing industry? Only time will tell despite having an unclear future post Brexit the early signs are Automotive Manufacturers are willing to commit to manufacturing within the UK whilst remaining flexible with their options post Brexit.
